In Kiev, the priests of the non-canonical Church structures attempted to enter the temple of Anastasia of Sirmium in Buchansky correctional colony No. 85, said of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

«Today three people, two of them «the priest of the Kyiv Patriarchate» quite aggressively and brazenly tried to get into the Church of St. Anastasia of Sirmium. Learned that the clergy of the UOC-KP community is the prison of the temple and stood on his defense and didn’t let them,» — said on the website of the information Department of the UOC with reference to the rector of the Church Archpriest Nikolai Grave.

As noted by the Archpriest, such actions clearly indicate the sentiments opposite to those which are declared by the leadership of the non-canonical Church structures.

«We promise that everything will be quiet, peaceful, no seizures, and want here at the temple to get there. Where were you all 20 years of the existence of this temple?» — asked the Abbot.

Earlier the UOC-MP has repeatedly reported about the attempts of the non-canonical Church structures to capture her temples. According to Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, 2014 supporters of the «Kiev Patriarchate» has captured more than 50 temples.

The dispute about autocephaly

In mid-October, the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that it begins the granting of autocephaly of the non-canonical Church in Ukraine. In particular, he recalled the act of 1686 on the transfer of the Kiev diocese in the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate, and abolished the anathema imposed by the Russian Orthodox Church at the head of the self-proclaimed «Kiev Patriarchate» Filaret, the leader of the non-canonical Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Macarius and their followers.

In the ROC these actions are called split and severed Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Similar decision was taken by the Synod of bishops of the Russian Church abroad.

The gap is the canonical territory of the ROC, including Ukraine and Belarus. As stated in the Moscow Patriarchate, Constantinople lost its right to be called the coordinating center for the entire Orthodox Church.
