The king and Queen of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and maxima on Tuesday will arrive in the UK on a state visit.

According to tradition, the king and Queen of the Netherlands will stay at Buckingham Palace as the host of Queen Elizabeth II, a distant relative and close friend of the mother of the present king of Queen Beatrix, who lost in the 2013 throne to his son.

The last time the state visit of the Dutch monarch in the UK took place in 1982 when Elizabeth II took Queen Beatrix and her husband Prince Claus.
