Vladimir Putin and Advisor to the American leader for homeland security John Bolton will discuss bilateral relations, Syria, regional conflict and the strategic security, said press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
«The main thing, of course, is that Bolton and his colleagues from the Russian side will inform the President about the discussions that took place yesterday and today in the morning,» — said Peskov.
Putin will take Bolton on Tuesday.
The adviser to trump met with security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Bolton and Lavrov discussed in particular the situation around Syria and in Afghanistan, and also questions of maintaining strategic stability. At the meeting with Patrushev, the parties touched upon a wide range of topics: from the options of the new start Treaty to the charges against Russians Elena Husainova to intervene in U.S. elections.
Today, the American politician met with defence Minister Sergei Shoigu. The defense Ministry called the talks constructive.
In particular, the sides exchanged views on strategic offensive arms, Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range security issues in the middle East.
Bolton on 22-23 October, is visiting the Russian capital.
