The Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation has no plans to introduce retaliatory sanctions against cultural figures of Ukraine, but promises the most severe reaction if Ukraine will try to enter the Russian market with products of the propaganda of anti-Russian character, said Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky.
«If Ukraine will produce some products, an ideological propaganda and come out with these products on the Russian market for commercial purposes, for example, with movies, we will be extremely hard to follow the norms of the current legislation», — said the Minister.
He recalled that his Department «has a certain reputation in this regard.» «I think they will understand,» added Medina.
The Russian Minister stated that «the Ministry of culture of Ukraine for the last four years engaged in an endless ban everything that can be disabled in respect of Russian movies, cartoons, artists».
«After they banned the «Three from Buttermilk» and the cat Matroskin, as a character, representing, apparently, a significant threat to the national security of Ukraine, from this moment I have a questions to the Ministry of culture of Ukraine no,» admitted Medina.
He said that in Russia to initiate this kind of bans the Ministry will not, and added that the Ministry was «yet to initiate anything (bans) was not going to».
According to Medina, «to compete with the Ukrainian Ministry of culture in this idiocy is impossible: we’re still gonna lose».
«Sylvester will remain on their conscience,» he said.
