Law enforcement officers found and arrested the two prisoners, who, October 20, escaped from the penal colony in the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk region, reported on the website of the regional Prosecutor’s office.

The head a press-services GUFSIN of Russia across the Irkutsk region Olga Kindinova said RIA Novosti that the escaped prisoners were discovered in a rented apartment.

«Runaway was discovered by staff of the division of investigation Department of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia in the Irkutsk region on October 22 at about 18.00 (13.00 GMT) in a rented apartment in the Oktyabrsky district of the city of Irkutsk. Resisting arrest had», she said.

Kindinova also noted that both prisoners in the court’s decision was to serve his term until 2021. According to the representative of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia in the region, «most likely, the prisoners will now be changed place of residence from the prison they are transferred under protection».

According to prosecutors, the men opened a criminal case under article «Escape from places of confinement, from under arrest or from-under guards, a group of persons on preliminary arrangement» which provides punishment in the form of forced labor for a term up to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
