The head EMERCOM of Russia Evgeny Senichev believes that fishermen, coming out on the ice in spite of the warning MES must pay for the fuel that is consumed for their salvation, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
«The rescue of fishermen entails large financial costs. The prohibition of going out on the ice gives the right to raise the question of whether to charge the (search and rescue) operation — at least for fuel. Especially in this time of forces and means involved in the rescue, may be necessary in a real emergency,» said Senichev, who arrived on the island.
The acting head of the Sakhalin area Vera Shcherbina supported the initiative of the Minister, citing similar experiences in foreign countries, and promised to work on this initiative at the legislative level.
