Members of the legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk region adopted amendments to the regional law that lifts the ban on sale of strong alcohol at the weekend, said on Wednesday the press service of the regional Parliament.
«Twenty-fourth day of October in the framework of the meeting of legislative Assembly deputies in the second reading voted for the adoption of amendments to the law governing the retail sale of alcoholic beverages. The bill gives the opportunity to buy alcoholic beverages with ethanol content of more than 15% of the finished product any day of the week from 8 to 20 hours», — stated in the message.
Clarifies that the prohibition on the sale of alcohol will continue to act 25 may (last call), 1 June (children’s Day), June 12 (Russia Day) and September 1 (knowledge Day) and 12 September (a Day in the Ulyanovsk region).
«We closely followed the Federal practice in respect of alcohol legislation, discussed this question on the demographic Council under the chairmanship of the Governor. Fortunately, the population, especially on the weekends, less attention to alcohol, although, of course, holidays and birthdays has not been canceled. Thus will be achieved the «Golden mean»: the alcohol in the Ulyanovsk region will be sold from Monday to Sunday from 8.00 till 20.00″, — the press service quoted the first Deputy Chairman of the legislative Assembly Vasily Gvozdev.
According to him, within six months, the deputies will monitor validity of the amendments and, if necessary, in alcohol law will make adjustments.
