American oil and gas Corporation Exxon Mobil lawsuit names the attorney General of new York in the case of climatic risks is unfounded and is caused by lobbying, to the statements of the company.
Earlier Wednesday, attorney General of new York Barbara underwood filed a lawsuit against Exxon Mobil, claiming that the company misled investors regarding the value of risks arising from more stringent regulation in the field of climate change.
«These baseless claims are a product of the private lobbying of special interests, political opportunism and the inability of the attorney General to recognize that the three-year investigation revealed no violations,» said the company.
Exxon declares the absence of any evidence to support the claim and hopes as soon as possible to achieve its deflection.
The lawsuit alleges that the scheme involved the top managers of the company, including former Chairman of the Board and CEO Rex Tillerson.
Prosecutors in new York nearly three years investigating as to whether injected Exxon Mobil investors and the public misled about risks associated with regulation in the field of climate change, withholding information about their impact. Exxon, in turn, denies the allegations.
