MOSCOW, 25 Okt — news, Natalia Dembinski. Russia is almost completely self-sufficient in the most popular products of the consumer basket. So, today all the sugar for the domestic market, the country produces itself, moreover, became a net exporter. Almost 50 percent decreased the export of the dried milk, pork and poultry on the shelves of the stores, mostly domestic. Accelerated pace is displaced and imported fruits and vegetables — in this year we have record growth of the harvest of greenhouse vegetables.

Beets instead of raw

The leader in imports was raw sugar from which to produce the final product — sugar and refined sugar. In January-July imports compared to the same period last year decreased by 62.1 per cent. To such conclusion the company «FinExpertiza», analyzing the dynamics of imports for the first seven months of this year.

Sugar produced from raw sugar or from sugar beets, which Russia has in abundance. Even 20 years ago, about 70 percent of sugar produced from imported raw sugar, now the share of raw sugar fell to three to five percent.

Took the ice cream

According to «FinExpertiza» half decreased volumes of import of dried milk and cream — key ingredients for the confectionery industry. For the year — minus 46.1%. This is partly due to restrictions on supplies from Belarus and import of raw milk, including dry milk and serum from the Federal Republic has been prohibited since June. However, according to market analysts, the shortage of raw materials, the Russian confectioners are not threatened: Russia has enough of its stockpile of dry milk and dry whey.

«Last year, these products have produced very much, and now the stocks are actively used,» — said Natalia Penkova, senior expert of the dairy market in IKARE.

«No substitute of milk fat nor milk are not damaging to the health of the consumer», — says Sergey Protein, food chemical engineer. Palm oil is a valid ingredient in milk products. By law the contents of this oil should not exceed 50%. Is it safe it? The expert says: proven that palm oil is less harmful than milk fat.

Meat and vegetables

Import of meat to Russia for the year decreased significantly, according to analysts In any case, available in stores poultry and pork is 95 percent Russian products. According to the Federal customs service, import of meat to Russia during the first half of 2018 decreased by 1.7 times compared to the same period last year, excluding shipments from countries of the EEU.

More likely decreased the supply of pork: for the first six months imported 36,3 thousand tons against 147,7 thousand tons a year earlier.

«The meat we have almost reached the level of self-sufficiency and developing export program,» — noted in the Institute of agrarian marketing.

But experts warn that winter prices for meat products will grow in the range of three to five percent is influenced by seasonal demand and because of the rising cost of feed due to poor grain yield.© RIA Novosti / Konstantin to Collabourate in fotobanka in the supermarketHis: Russia dramatically reduced imports of sugar, milk and meat© RIA Novosti / Konstantin to Collabourate in fotobanka in the supermarket

This year the Ministry of agriculture is expecting a record harvest of greenhouse vegetables. It is expected that production will reach one million tons and will exceed indicators of last year by 12.3 percent. But while fruits and vegetables remain the most import-dependent segment of the market. So, in the fall and winter 50-60% of the tomatoes in the shops is imported. In the summer prices have dropped, and in October began a seasonal increase. Peak the price tag will reach during the new year holidays in January and February, but may will decline: the market will leave the domestic tomatoes grown in the open ground.
