NATO exercise Trident Juncturе off the coast of Norway are anti-Russian character, Russia needs to take this into account, said Russian Deputy foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

«There is no doubt that they (NATO — ed.) are anti-Russian, and we must take this into account in our military planning», — he told reporters on the sidelines of the economic forum of Verona.

«Well, what in recent years has paid increased attention to the strengthening of our military capabilities, and today Russia has various options of choosing the best military-technical response to the threats, which might have a completely different character,» said the diplomat.

Exercise Trident Juncture began in Norway on October 25 and will end on 7 November. Participation in them will accept about 50 thousand soldiers, 250 aircraft and 65 ships from 31 countries. The number of military of the Nordic countries amounted to more than 13 thousand soldiers.

The Minister of defence of the Russian Federation General of the army Sergei Shoigu said earlier that the military activity of NATO near the borders of the Russian Federation has reached unprecedented levels since the cold war, the myth about the Russian threat.

Moscow has repeatedly stated in connection with the increased activity of NATO at its borders, for anybody not a threat, but will not leave without attention, potentially dangerous to its interests.
