Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow will submit to the Committee of the UN General Assembly draft resolution in support of maintaining the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty).

«Look at how countries, including U.S. allies, will behave in this situation,» Ryabkov said in the «Big game» on the First channel.

The INF Treaty

Donald trump said earlier that the United States would withdraw from the Treaty on intermediate-range missiles, because Russia is breaking it.

He also promised that Washington will develop weapons.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow wants to receive from US a more detailed explanation, and added that the scrapping of the Treaty would force Russia to take measures to ensure their safety. Sergey Lavrov said that any action in this field will meet.

Russia’s Response

As stated by Vladimir Putin if Europe will ship the new American missiles, then Moscow will have to meet the mirror.

«As for Europe, of course, the most important question, if the United States withdraws from the Treaty the INF Treaty, the most important question — what will they do with these newly emerging rockets», — stressed the head of state.

According to him, in this case, countries agreed to the deployment of missiles, put their territory under the threat of possible retaliation. Putin in this connection, recalled the situation with the medium-range missiles, «Pershing» in Europe in the 1980-ies.

«I don’t understand, do I need to bring Europe to the state that such a high degree of risk. I don’t see, really, no reason. Again, this is not our choice, we do not aspire to this,» said the President.
