Russian rocket programs, including cruise missiles, are completely contained in its obligations under the Treaty on intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

According to her, «promoted US» campaign on charges of breach of contract «is unprecedented in terms of their unfounded».

«A few years, the American side refuses to provide any objective data on the basis of which Washington came to the conclusion that the developed in Russia – and this these days is also mentioned – and passed the flight tests of the cruise missile ground-based index 9М729 is prohibited under the agreement range. For its part has repeatedly affirmed that implemented Russia’s missile program is completely fit into our obligations under the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range. This applies to the missile, which the Russian experts, the official representatives appear maximum transparency», she said at a briefing on Thursday.

Zakharova recalled that the Russian defense Ministry announced the launch at maximum range, indicating the distance of the flight – relevant parameters of the INF Treaty. Moscow gave Washington a clarification of «partner» channels, not publicly. «If the United States the information does not agree, then, of course, it would again be logical to request some specifics from them, but nothing like we were not transferred. Are only some references to certain non-public information. You understand that such an approach is more reminiscent of the deliberate blocking of the work to resolve this issue,» she added.

Earlier, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that the United States does not intend to comply with the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range when it breaks, and will be released from the contract. Trump said the United States will increase its nuclear capacity until then while the rest of us «don’t come around», and after Washington will be ready to stop this process and even to proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily China and Russia, which, according to him, is not fulfilling its obligations under the INF Treaty.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow wants to obtain a more detailed explanation from the United States, and added that the scrapping of the provisions of the INF Treaty would force Russia to take measures to ensure their safety. The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any action in this field will meet.
