The Supreme court on Thursday upheld the verdict of the citizen of Ukraine Eugene Panov, who was sentenced to eight years in prison for preparing acts of sabotage in the Crimea, the correspondent of RIA Novosti news from the courtroom.

«The decision of the Supreme court of the Republic of Crimea to leave without change, the appeal complaint – without satisfaction», — announced the decision of judicial Board on criminal cases of the armed forces.

The meeting was closed to the public mode, in connection with the fact that in case it appears classified information. However, students admitted to the announcement.

Lords who do not consider themselves guilty, were charged under several articles of the criminal code, including preparing acts of sabotage, illegal possession of weapons and smuggling.

On the prevention of terrorist attacks in Crimea, the FSB announced in August 2016. According to the Russian special services, the shares of prepared main intelligence Directorate of the defense Ministry of Ukraine, the purpose was to speak of «critical infrastructure and life support of the Peninsula».

In the case of preparing acts of sabotage, in addition to Panova, was detained a citizen of Ukraine Andrey Sahta. Sahta entered into a pretrial agreement with the investigation and gave evidences about preparation of the Ukrainian intelligence of a series of explosions on the Peninsula. In February, the Supreme court of Crimea has sentenced to 6,5 years of a colony of a strict mode.
