Investment projects with a total value of about 765 billion roubles will be implemented in the Chelyabinsk region in the years 2019-2024, reported the press service of the Governor.

On Friday at session of the government chaired by the Governor Boris Dubrovsky was first presented the forecast of socio-economic development of the Chelyabinsk region for the next 6 years.

«The investment policy is aimed at implementation of major projects mainly in the metallurgy, machinery, mining, and agriculture. In the years 2019-2024 will be implemented over 240 investment projects, totalling about 765 billion rubles», — stated in the message.

So, this year the volume of investments in fixed capital expected to be $ 221 billion with a growth of 9.5%. The press service explained that the Chelyabinsk oblast in the first half of the year is 15-th place in Russia in terms of investment. Already in the years 2019-2021 growth is expected at 4.8-6.6 per cent, boosted by including the summits of the SCO and BRICS, and in the years 2020-2024 projected annual growth of investments will amount to 10.3-11.9 percent, the report States.

According to the Minister of economic development of the region Sergey Smolnikov, economic growth will contribute to the improvement of the business environment, this year the number of small and medium-sized enterprises increased by more than 70% compared to 2014, its turnover is estimated at 1.3 trillion rubles. Also, according to him, in 2018 the growth rate of industrial production is estimated at 2.4%. As a result, the growth of industrial production is planned from 7.1% in 2019 to 9.6% in 2024, said the Minister.

As noted Dubrovsky, the projected growth of the economy should, first and foremost, have a positive impact on the social sphere. «We need to continue the projects in the field of social policy, education and health. The main indicator that we need to do by 2024 to increase the life expectancy of the South Urals at the age of 78. This six-year cycle will not be easy, but we will build our economic policy so that it worked on the constant improvement of the quality of life of people», – the press service quoted his words.
