Burned in Karelia Uspenskaya Church should be restored in the shortest possible time, told reporters Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.

«We need in the shortest possible time to raise funds and rebuild. This is our civil and state responsibility», — said the Golodets.

The Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God was located in the territory of the former village, which initiated the city of Kondopoga, on a small promontory jutting into Chupa lip of lake Onega. The temple was built in 1774, in the twilight of Northern wooden architecture, in memory of peasants who died during the Kizhi uprising in 1769-1771 years. It was one of the tallest wooden churches in the Russian North, a monument of folk architecture of the late EIGHTEENTH century, historically the final evolution tent churches prionezhskiy school.

The Church burned on August 10, the preliminary cause of the fire is called arson. The investigation was initiated two criminal cases, the suspect — a 15-year-old from Petrozavodsk.
