Vice-Premier of the Crimean government, the permanent representative of the Republic under the President of Russia Georgy Muradov has urged the U.S. government to stop the madness associated with the arms race.

«We would very much like to stop this madness, associated with the arms race, which, of course, encouraged by the withdrawal of the United States from a variety of base contracts that define the entire system of disarmament and international security in the world», — Muradov said to journalists.

The Ambassador also stated about the inadmissibility of creating new bases of the NATO near the Russian borders.

«Americans now worldwide around Russia and China create their new military bases. The population of those countries where they are forced to almost put their new military facilities, needs to know, and this is our request to the international community that these facilities threaten the very innocent people of these countries, because in the case of aggression against Russia it will all be destroyed», — Muradov said.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump said that the United States does not intend to comply with the Treaty on intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), when it breaks, and will be released from the contract. Trump said that America will increase its nuclear capacity until then while the rest of us «don’t come around», and after Washington will be ready to stop this process and even to proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily to China and Russia.

In recent years Moscow and Washington have regularly accused each other of violating the INF Treaty. Russia has repeatedly stated that strictly complies with its obligations under the contract. Lavrov noted that Moscow has very serious questions to the US regarding the performance of the contract by the Americans themselves. In particular, in Moscow indicate that the United States placed on land at a military base in Romania, and in Poland — a facility capable of launching a shock cruise missiles of type «Tomahawk», which is prohibited by the Treaty. The Russian side also drew attention to the fact that the United States develop unmanned fighting vehicles, funding research on creation of cruise missiles, land-based.
