The memorial wall to the victims of repressions will be opened in Moscow in the former the sensitive sites of the NKVD of the USSR «Kommunarka» on Saturday, October 27, reported on the website of the Council under RF President on development of civil society and human rights.

«The twenty-seventh of October at 12:00 will take place opening of Wall of memory in the former the sensitive sites of the NKVD of the USSR «Kommunarka» is one of five known mass graves of people shot in Moscow», — stated in the message.

It is noted that after the construction of the walls of the memory of the children and grandchildren of the thousands of shot can come to the place of burial and put flowers or put candles next to the names of their loved ones whose fate was unknown for decades.

In the opening ceremony of the monument will be attended by the Chairman of the HRC Mikhail Fedotov, the rector of the Church of the Holy new Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Kommunarka hieromonk Ermogen, Chairman of the Board of the International Memorial’s Yan Rachinsky, Director of the Museum of Gulag history Roman Romanov and others.

The monument was built thanks to the efforts of the International Memorial and parish Church of the Holy new Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Moscow with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill. The erection of the monument and landscaping of the Alley of memory performed by means of the memory Foundation.
