Most Russians do not feel animosity because of nationality, said Barinov

The majority of Russian citizens acknowledge that you have no feeling of hostility to itself on a national basis, consider the relationship between different faiths as normal and friendly, said the head of Federal Agency on Affairs of nationalities of the Russian Federation (FADH) Igor Barinov.

«Last year recorded the highest level of all-Russian civic identity from the beginning of the measurement of this indicator by the Institute of sociology — 84%. For the first time in recent history of the country the vast majority of citizens of those polled — 93% — confirmed the absence to his hostility on a national basis,» said Barinov at a meeting of the presidential Council for interethnic relations.

He added that 96% of respondents regard cooperation between representatives of different faiths as a normal and friendly.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Khanty-Mansiysk holds a meeting of the presidential Council for interethnic relations. On the agenda are the issues of government netzpolitik and spatial and demographic development of the country.
