SK Armenia has not recognized Kocharian victims in the case of wiretapping

The investigative Committee of Armenia dismissed the petition on the recognition of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharian victims in the case about the wiretapping of telephone conversation of the Director of national security service Arthur Veneziano and head of the Special investigation service of Sasun Khachatryan, said on Friday, RIA Novosti adviser to the head of SK Sona Truzyan.

«The petition of the lawyer Kocharian on the recognition of its victims has been rejected by the investigator in connection with absence of reasons,» said Cruzan.

Earlier in the Internet appeared the recording of telephone conversations where the Director of the national security Service said the head of the special investigation service, told judge about the need to arrest ex-President Robert Kocharyan. It is also advised to be careful with the CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, as this, according to him, the political problem. Thus, Venecian said that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinian said «close» Khachaturov. The Director of the national security Service confirmed the authenticity of the recording.

On the fact of «wiretapping» was filed two cases under articles «violation of the secrecy of correspondence, telephone negotiations, mail, telegraphic or other communications» and «illegal acquisition of computer data to produce information of particular value» and «excess of powers of office». Lawyer Kocharian, Hovhannes Khudoyan filed a petition in the SC on the recognition of his client’s victims in the case. He explained that the recording of the telephone conversation confirms the actions directed on restriction of a freedom of Kocharian.

Earlier, the Special investigation service of Armenia was charged with Kocharian in the overthrow of the constitutional order in the criminal case about the protesters on 1 March 2008. The day after he was arrested for two months. Protection Kocharian appealed the arrest in the court of appeal, which overturned the decision of the court of first instance, referring to the immunity of the former President.

In the case of dispersal of the protests on 1 March 2008, charges were also brought against former defense Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan, who declared in the international wanted list, and CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, who served in 2008 in the armed forces of Armenia.
