Introduction against Russia of new Western sanctions, if it happens, will not lead to sharp fluctuations of the ruble, said the first Vice Premier, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

«We do a budget is almost not dependent on changes in oil prices, on the one hand. But on the other hand, what sanctions? Imposed sanctions, investors hesitated, began to withdraw money from the Russian Federation. This affects the exchange rate, but stability, reliability from the point of view of the budget and its reliability and stability, it does not allow and will not allow (happen — ed) sharp fluctuations of the ruble», — he told on air of TV channel «Russia 1».

«Imposed sanctions on RUSAL — the course began to change, the course began to sail, because foreign investors started to come out of Russian assets. But what will happen if there are similar sanctions? There is a margin of safety — a surplus budget,» — said Siluanov.

«If they imposed some sort of sanctions, perhaps there will be some changes (exchange rate — ed.) but they in the end will be predictable, these changes are not so significant that we have to watch every day, as it was before, in the course of the exchanges, what happens with the ruble,» the Minister said.
