The Romanian Orthodox Church addressed to the Constantinople and Moscow Patriarchates, urging them to find a common solution of the situation with autocephaly for Ukraine.

«Given the development of the ecclesiastical situation in Ukraine, the Holy Synod reiterates the recommendation of may 24, 2018, that the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Patriarchate of Moscow should work together to come to solution, maintaining the unity of the faith and of the administrative-pastoral freedom trail, which is a characteristic note of Orthodoxy», — said the press service of the Patriarchate of Romania, published on Friday following the meeting of the Synod.

The Romanian Orthodox Church stresses that unity can be maintained through mutual responsibility and cooperation among the local Orthodox churches, as well as by promoting dialogue and «synodality».

«The unity of the Church is a sacred gift of God, but also a great responsibility of bishops, the priesthood and the faithful laity. Therefore, the Holy Synod calls for an increase of prayers for the unity, to the cultivation of dialogue and the application of Christian brotherly love, which gives true freedom», — is spoken in the message.
