The NATO ships have no place in the sea of Azov, all attempts to violate the territorial waters of the Russian Federation will be stopped, said the Deputy of the state Duma of the Russian Federation of the Crimea region Michael Sheremet.

Earlier, first Deputy Chairman of the Union of officers of Ukraine Yevhen Lupakov said that Ukraine is for «security» in the sea of Azov must take more radical action, and not rely on anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union. According to him, first and foremost, Kiev must «immediately terminate» an agreement with Russia on joint use of the Azov sea, and then «carry out the delimitation of the Ukrainian border in the Azov sea» and then to make a statement about holding in the Ukrainian area of responsibility ballistic missile and artillery troops. Then to invite NATO ships.

«The NATO ships have nothing to do in the sea of Azov. We will not tolerate this, definitely. To do it there is nothing for thousands of kilometers from their shores. Let them guard their territory. Want to try poking the bear, let them try, but before that revered history. If the Western partners will dare to violate the territorial waters of the Russian Federation, using the forced Ukrainian authorities, it will be stopped immediately,» — said RIA Novosti Sheremet.

The MP stressed that the plan Lopokova sounded more like a political yelp, which is not worth paying attention to.

In the beginning of the year the situation deteriorated with the navigation in the Azov sea. In March Ukraine detained the Russian trawler «Nord», put forward against its captain charged with illegal visit to Crimea «with the aim of causing harm to the state interests». Moscow found the actions of the Kiev «sea terrorism» and responded by increasing border inspections in his part of the Azov sea. Then the Ukrainian border guards have accused the Russian authorities of «hard policy of detention and inspection of ships». The Crimean border guard service stated that it conducts audits in accordance with international law of the sea and had not received complaints from ship owners. The Ukrainian foreign Ministry admitted that Russian border guards do not violate the protocols during the inspection. Later Kiev announced its intention to increase its military presence in the Azov sea and create a naval base.
