Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman on the national holiday — the Day of formation of the independent Czechoslovak state, noting that Russia and the Czech Republic bound by ties of cultural and spiritual closeness, the corresponding telegram published on the Kremlin website.

«This year you are celebrating a significant anniversary: exactly one hundred years ago the Czechs together with the Slovak people defended their right to state sovereignty. In Russia with respect to the Czech Republic, our countries are bound by ties of cultural and spiritual closeness», — the telegram says.

In addition, the leader of the Russian Federation expressed confidence that development of bilateral dialogue and constructive cooperation in various fields of common interest.

Putin also wished the Meeting good health and success and all Czech citizens – well-being and prosperity.
