Russia welcomes the request of the President of the United States Donald trump to work together on terrorism, cybersecurity and the establishment of the business Council and hoped that an agreement on the resumption of the channels will not be disavowed by the administration in Washington, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

«During his press conference following the talks, John Bolton mentioned their agreement to work on terrorism and watch how and what we can do to ensure cyber security, announced that it will be necessary to create a business Council,» said Lavrov in an interview to the program «Moscow. The Kremlin. Putin» on TV channel «Russia-1».

He recalled that all three of these areas were agreed in Hamburg a year and a half ago, in July, on the sidelines of the summit, when presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald trump met for the first time for a long conversation.

«Unfortunately, on terrorism, cybersecurity and the business Council there’s no movement until the very last minutes, when Bolton confirmed that trump wants to realize all this, what are we going to work on this. We welcome this, but would like not to repeat history after Hamburg and Helsinki, when the agreement in principle on a number of important issues, and not about what is already some agreement on the merits, but simply on the resumption channels to address problems, then disavowals the Washington administration despite the fact that trump has supported such approaches. Let’s see what happens this time,» said the Minister.

Advisor to the President for national security John Bolton on 23 October, ended his visit to Russia. He was received by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and Secretary of the security Council Nikolai Patrushev. At a press conference in Moscow he said that the United States and Russia will continue the implementation of the Helsinki agreements of the leaders of the two countries, including terrorism.
