On the website of free advertisements in the Internet appeared the announcement of the sale of 100 thousand rubles, presumably, the death mask of Alexander Pushkin.

Her owner claims that the mask of the poet was cast in the workshop of sculptor Fyodor Tolstoy, and was hereditary. However, the evidence of its authenticity is not given.

«My grandfather was married (first marriage) to a relative of F. Tolstoy, which kept the mask after the latter’s death left my grandfather and moved into our family,» — says in the ad.

The first death mask of Pushkin was made in the day of death of the poet by the sculptor S. I. Galberga, according to the website of the Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg. Of the 15 masks of the first low tide shot under him, only four survived, and two of them are in the collection of the Museum on the Moika, 12.
