Margvelashvili cast his vote at a polling station in 47-th school of the Georgian capital. He came to the site on foot, accompanied by one security guard.

«I voted for the candidate who will be the President of all citizens and not be afraid of this. He will be commander of those special Armed forces, which have a wonderful history and heroism of the past years»,- said Margvelashvili to journalists.

Journalists began to gather at the site awaiting the arrival of the current President of Georgia almost from its opening. The arrival of Margvelashvili at the site gathered several dozen journalists.

Voting in the election of the President of Georgia began at 08.00 local time (07.00 GMT). Closed polling stations at 20.00 (19.00 GMT).

This is the last direct election of the President of Georgia. The President is elected, not five years before, and six. Among the 25 registered by the CEC candidates main struggle, according to analysts, will be between the independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili and the candidate from the United opposition Grigol Vashadze.
