Anti-Semitism and xenophobia in Russia, although in a number of Western States intolerance towards other Nations and religions only aktiviziruyutsya, said the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

«Can not but cause concern that in different parts of the world again aktiviziruyutsya anti-Semitism, raise the head of his media. This is the case even in European countries, other countries, positioning itself as a benchmark of civilization, democracy, respect for the rights and freedoms of the person», — she said at the Second Moscow conference on combating anti-Semitism, xenophobia and racism in Moscow.

The better to speak about the absence of this issue in modern Russia, stressed the speaker.

«In preparing for this morning, I read the reports about the so-called level of anti-Semitism in Russia in 2017 and the first half of this year. Here’s what they said: «…We are not aware of attacks or acts of vandalism are clearly motivated by anti-Semitism,» — said Matvienko.

The lack of anti-Semitism in Russia, she said, was achieved through consistent public policy, making and implementing laws against all forms of extremism, incitement of social, national, religious enmity.
