In Irkutsk the court in the case of the poisoning of «Hawthorn» will hear victims

Leninsky district court of Irkutsk continued the consideration of the case of poisoning by counterfeit «Hawthorn», the use of which in December 2016 in Irkutsk died, 62 people, with the hearing of the testimony of the victims, the correspondent of RIA Novosti news from the courtroom.

Leninsky district court of Irkutsk on October 22 announced the indictment of seven defendants in the case about the poisoning of «Hawthorn», composed of methyl alcohol. Among the accused five people from Azerbaijan Suleyman Rustamov, Rahman Mehdiyev Seymur Aliyev, Anar Babayev Zaur Abilov and two residents of Irkutsk region Yuliya Melentyeva and Svetlana Krasnoyarova. They are accused of manufacturing and selling products not meeting safety requirements, committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion, entailed on imprudence causing of death of consumers. Also at the first meeting were interviewed one of the victims. All the victims on this criminal case found 73 people.

On Monday the hearing was called 11 victims, of which the court managed to hear 7 people. Among the respondents were survivors after the use of counterfeit, others have lost someone close to you. They also noted that their relatives for a long period of time abused alcohol, someone drinking «Hawthorn» in a few years.

«The hearing will be called, all who are recognized as victims in this case. If someone will not are the cause of the failure must be legally justified,» — said RIA Novosti, the Prosecutor Irina Doronina, adding that the court to continue to hear victims on Tuesday.

In February 2018, the Sverdlovsk district court of Irkutsk on charges of «Hawthorn» sentenced the owner of the trade pavilion to 4 years and the seller of the pavilion to 3 years in a General regime colony. In September, another defendant in this case was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months in prison and a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
