The Boeing company monitors the situation in connection with the crash of an airplane of the airline Lion Air off the coast of Indonesia, according to a company statement on Twitter.

Previously, the online version of the newspaper Jakarta Post, citing the Agency for emergency management of Indonesia (Basarnas) reported that the Boeing 737 airline Lion Air, which in the morning had lost contact, crashed into the sea near the West coast of the island of Java in Indonesia. Indonesian news portal Detik.com said that in the time of the disaster on Board were 188 people.

«Boeing is aware of the reports related to the incident with the plane, and closely monitors the situation», — said in a statement.

The Boeing 737 MAX budget airline Lion Air, carrying out flight from Jakarta on the island of Sumatra, took off from the airport of the capital of Indonesia 06.20 (02.20 GMT) and disappeared from radar at 06.33 (02.33 GMT).
