Plants in Krasnodar territory produced 1 million tons of beet sugar, the press service of the regional Ministry of agriculture.
According to the Agency, to date crop harvested from an area of 190 thousand hectares. The gross yield is over 7 million tons.
«The collected raw material is supplied to the sugar mills of the region for further processing. Given the raw materials of the Stavropol territory and the Rostov region plants received for processing 8 million tons. Processed more than 7.5 million tons of raw material from which produced 1 million tons of beet sugar,» – said in the message. According to the agriculture Ministry, this year the region is expected to produce about 1.15 million tons of sugar.
It is noted that the processing of sugar beet are 16 plants in the region. Krasnodar region produces 25% of sugar in the whole amount. As explained in the Ministry, about 220 thousand tons remains in the region for domestic consumption, the remainder is delivered to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and also exported to Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Italy, Lebanon and Turkey.
By the end of 2017 in the Krasnodar region was generated a record 1.52 million tons of sugar, which is 2% higher than in the previous year, when it produced 1.49 million tons.
According to soyuzrossakhar, the production of sugar in Russia in the current season may reach 6 million tons, and its export from Russia in 2018-2019 marketing year (August 2018 through July 2019) — 450 thousand tons, including 150 thousand — outside the Eurasian economic Union.
