Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar called on Jews to observe their traditions despite the attacks of anti-Semites.

Opened in Moscow II Moscow international conference on anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia, which gathered more than 600 experts from 37 countries. The event was organized by the Russian Jewish Congress.

«When we see what is happening around us, we understand how important it is to make every child proud of their tradition, the commandments that God has given each of us. This is our response to the event, which was the day before in Pittsburgh,» said Lazar.

At the same time, he said, to fight anti-Semitism should not the Jewish community, and the state and law enforcement agencies. In addition, in the case of hatred, the Jews should not leave their place of residence.

The attack on the synagogue in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) occurred on the morning of 27 October, when there were people at the ceremony. According to media reports, the shooter entered the building and shouting anti-Semitic slogans and began firing. When the police arrived, a gun battle ensued. The attacker later surrendered to police. In the result 11 people died, six others, including four policemen, were injured.
