The leader of the movement «the Ukrainian choice — the Right of the people» Viktor Medvedchuk said that Ukraine dozens of most industrial countries over the past 30 years turned into an agrarian and raw materials appendage.

Earlier, first Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of economic development and trade Stepan Kubiv said that economic cooperation with Russia in Soviet times turned Ukraine into a «raw materials appendage».

Medvedchuk advised the Deputy Prime Minister to operate with facts, not «idle speculation and propaganda cliches».

«Soviet Ukraine was a UN member, so it cited data from the international statistics. So, in 90-e years of the last century Ukraine was among the ten most industrialized countries in the world! And now our country is among the outsiders» — quoted Medvedchuk website traffic.

According to him, it was during the activities of integration of Ukraine into an agrarian-raw material appendage. «Moreover, the appendage is not only the EU but also in many developing countries, to which it shifted from its traditional markets — Russia and other CIS countries», — he added.

«Today we supply to these markets products are mostly with a low degree of processing and low added value. This is mainly cereals, oilseeds, products of metallurgy. But as a result of this reorientation of Ukraine can not go back even to the level of exports deironizing 2013. For the first nine months of 2018, the export of goods compared to the same period of 2013 decreased by 25.3% to 34.5 billion dollars. So when Ukraine became a backward agrarian-raw material appendage?» — said Medvedchuk.
