The President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a solemn event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the electoral system of the Russian Federation, said that the whole country, never, I’ll never forget the day of the referendum on joining of Crimea to Russia.

The Chairman of the territorial election Commission of the Balaklava district of Sevastopol Elena Vovk, speaking at the event, noted that the day of the referendum on joining the Republic of Crimea in structure of Russia was special for the region, and Crimeans will never forget it.

«About the performance of colleagues from Sevastopol. She said that the referendum day they will never forget, we too will never forget, all of Russia will not forget», — Putin said.

Crimea became a Russian region after held there in March 2014 referendum in which 96.77% of voters of the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of residents of Sevastopol voted for joining Russia.
