The President of the United States Donald trump is considering the American Ambassador in France and Monaco Jamie McCourt as a candidate for the position of U.S. permanent representative to the UN, informs television channel Fox News, citing two sources close to the situation.

According to the channel, in addition to McCourt was also named «several other candidates» for the position of U.S. permanent representative to the UN. However the head a press-services of the Department of state Heather Nauert remains a «Prime candidate» for the position.

According to sources the channel, on Monday Nauert met with trump in the oval office of the White house, but it is not known if they discussed the assignment.

Earlier, on October 17 the US President Donald trump said that he has a lot of candidates for the post of U.S. permanent representative to the UN, and he can decide who will take this post in the next two weeks.

US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley earlier said he will leave office at the end of the year. She didn’t give any reasons for the resignation, but trump has promised Haley place in the administration if she decides to return to the White house. Media reported that the American President were considered as candidates for the post of head of the press service of the Department of state Heather Nauert and U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Kelly Kraft.
