«VKontakte» has commented on reports that the inhabitant of Ufa has filed a lawsuit against the social network on one hundred thousand roubles. It is reported RT with reference to the press service of «Vkontakte».
The representatives of the social network stated that it has not yet received notification about the lawsuit.
«The issue requires study on our part. Once again, please note that interaction with law enforcement, we build exclusively in the framework of the current legislation», — told the press service.
In the office of «Vkontakte» stressed the importance of improving laws.
Earlier it was reported that the inhabitant of Ufa Lilia Chanysheva filed a lawsuit against the social network «Vkontakte» for providing her personal information to law enforcement authorities. She demands compensation for moral damages in the amount of one hundred thousand rubles.
This is the first lawsuit against «Vkontakte» on this occasion.
According to the lawyer of Causeway, the social network gave the police the personal data of women during registration, IP address page and information about time and date of its creation. Then this information was sent to Roskomnadzor, which has asked women for information about members of the groups «Vkontakte».
After Chanysheva refused, against it filed an administrative case.
Case «for reposts»
Since the beginning of 2018 in the Russian regions initiated several hundred criminal cases «for reposts»: Network users accused of inciting hatred and enmity of preservation on the pages in social networks of foreign posts and pictures.
One of the most notorious was the case of a student of Mary Motunau from Barnaul. The girl faced up to five years in prison for pictures that she kept in your profile in social network «Vkontakte». Ultimately, the court remanded the case for further investigation to the Prosecutor’s office, after which Matuska left Russia.
