Perinatal center, which will host up to 15 thousand pregnant women annually, opened in Gatchina in the Leningrad region, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

«This is without exaggeration the most coveted and long-awaited our object. Construction of a perinatal centre was not without difficulties, but the results exceeded all expectations. Center, today, the most modern and sophisticated medical facility, which we’d love to give the mothers and children of the Leningrad region», – said the Governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko at the opening ceremony of the perinatal complex.

The center is equipped with latest generation equipment – digital ultrasound devices, magnetic resonance tomography. In the intensive care unit and intensive care for newborns is set to ventilators, infant incubators and resuscitation open system.

The institution has opened the doors of Leningrad in childbirth. On the first day of work here came into the world two healthy girls.

Total clinic perinatal center with 130 beds and 10 day care beds, through the use of modern medical technologies will offer consultations, diagnosis, treatment of pregnant women and mothers.

In addition, the clinic created remote Advisory center with exit anesthesiology-resuscitation obstetric team, which will improve the accessibility vysokotekhnologichnoi care in rural areas.

The construction costs of the project amounted to 2.5 billion rubles, of which 1.3 billion – the regional budget, 1.2 billion – funds from the Federal Treasury. The customer of the construction was made by the state Corporation «rostec».
