The largest Russian airline «Aeroflot» by 2023 plans to have in the Russian regions three and four of the hub base to the documents of the company in the strategy, seen by RIA Novosti.

The General Director of «Aeroflot» Vitaly Savelyev at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on 29 October told about plans for development in the regions. It was about the creation of hubs and bases in the regions. The head of «Aeroflot» were called for these purposes, the city of Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. He added that the group continues to develop Vladivostok and Khabarovsk.

According to the documents of the new development strategy of «Aeroflot» until 2023, hubs of the group by this time will be located in Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok, the base — Sochi, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.

Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, as said Savelyev, will become the new hubs and bases. Saint-Petersburg, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok should show in 2023, double the growth of passenger traffic in comparison to 2017.

«Aeroflot» in the documents indicates that «databases» are due to the place of overnight aircraft, «hubs» wave docking schedule (transit passengers flying in from different places on some planes, others fly to the destination).

The group’s strategy approved by the Board of Directors of «Aeroflot», provides in 2023 the growth of regional traffic almost tripled to 19 million with 7 million passengers in 2017. Aeroflot said that will make a real contribution to the implementation of the orders of the President of the Russian Federation the Cabinet of Ministers until 2024 to expand the network of interregional regular passenger flights, bypassing Moscow, up to 50% of the total number of domestic flights.
