Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) from 2019 will provide governments, employers and citizens information confirming the pre-retirement age citizens to provide them with social benefits, according to a statement on the Foundation’s website.

«Starting in 2019 the Pension Fund of Russia will launch a new kind of awareness, in which governments, employers and citizens will be provided information confirming the pre-retirement age people. These data will be used to provide benefits and measures of social support of citizens approaching retirement age, are now guaranteed them by the legislation», — stated in the message.

The FIU noted that one of the counterparties, which the FIU is planning to provide information on the persons close to retirement age are employment service. Based on the information of the Fund they will pay unemployment benefit at a higher rate. «In this regard, Pension Fund organized for the conclusion of agreements on information cooperation with the employment authorities of constituent entities. November 1, Tula was signed one of the first such agreements between the regional Office of the Pension Fund of Russia and the Ministry of labour and social protection», — added in the message.

Such an agreement reglamentary interaction of territorial bodies of the pension Fund and employment services in the region for exchange of information for persons close to retirement age the full amount of benefits and social guarantees. The Foundation also will provide relevant data on pretensioner other interested state bodies in accordance with the law.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the law on preservation of benefits on property taxes for people close to retirement age. The document retains the right to receive Federal benefits on land tax and property tax when reaching the current retirement age, i.e. 55 years for women and 60 for men. These benefits will not be provided in connection with the retirement, and when it reaches the current retirement age, i.e. who will act on 31 December 2018, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.

The state Duma on 27 September adopted in the third reading the law on perfection of pension system, on October 3 it was approved by the Federation Council. Originally, the government bill for the gradual raising of age of retirement to 65 years for men and 63 years for women, however, in the second reading in the state Duma took into account proposals of the President of the Russian Federation, and now the document provides a boost for all of five years — to 65 for men and 60 for women.

Lawmakers on the initiative of the head of state has provided a number of other measures for mitigating solutions in particular, early retirement for mothers of large families and the introduction of measures for the protection of persons close to retirement age, including raising unemployment benefits and the introduction of liability for employers for dismissal before retirement.

Now the standard age of retirement in Russia is 60 and 55 years for men and women respectively prescribed by law the retirement age established in the 1930-ies. The question of raising the retirement age has been discussed for quite some time. The need for this is caused by growing life expectancy and the inability to provide a decent pension in circumstances when the number of employees in the country decreases, while the number of pensioners, by contrast, is growing. Today, in most countries the retirement age is 60-65 years.
