SC – RIA NovoSTI. The opinion of the Deputy of the Yaroslavl city Duma from the «United Russia» Dmitry Petrovsky, who proposed to abolish old-age pension, does not reflect the position of the party, said RIA Novosti, first Deputy head of the faction on legislative activities in the state Duma Andrey Isaev.

Answering the question of whether a single is the position of the party, he said: «No, of course not!»

«To say such things could only irresponsible people», he added.

According to Isaev, Russia has already developed pension system. «You change its settings. But this system exists, it provides a Pension Fund,» — he said, calling pensions a priority for the state.

Earlier Petrovsky said in his Facebook that old age pensions should be abolished, and the Pension Fund as a structure to be abolished. In his opinion, it is necessary to provide everyone the opportunity to decide how much to work and how and what he’s going to live after you stop working. The MP added that the pension will only be paid to disability.

Changes in pension legislation

The state Duma on 27 September adopted amendments to the pension legislation, on the third of October the law approved by the Federation Council, the next day it was signed by Vladimir Putin.

Initially, the government submitted a bill for the gradual raising of age of retirement to 65 years for men and 63 years for women, however, in the second reading in the state Duma was considered Putin’s proposal. The final version envisages raising the retirement age for all five years — to 65 for men and 60 for women.

Also saved early retirement for mothers of large families and introduced measures for the protection of persons close to retirement age, among which — increase for them of unemployment benefits and the introduction for employers of responsibility for the dismissal of employees before the retirement age.

Currently in Russia, the standard age of retirement is 60 and 55 years for men and women respectively, these standards introduced in the 1930-ies. The necessity of raising the retirement age is due to increased life expectancy and the inability to provide a decent pension, when the number of employees decreases and the number of pensioners is increasing. In most countries the retirement age is now 60 to 65 years.
