U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that Iran may have lost more than $ 2.5 billion in oil revenues, the Iranian market has gone or refused to do business more than 100 companies.

«More than 20 countries reduced to zero crude oil imports (from Iran). The regime may have lost more than $ 2.5 billion in oil revenues,» said Pompeo told reporters. According to him, since may, more than 100 companies have left the Iranian market or canceled plans to do business with this country.

«Today’s sanctions will accelerate the rapid decline in international economic activities of Iran since the beginning of the implementation of our strategy in may,» said U.S. Secretary of state.

He again threatened that those who try to avoid sanctions will face consequences, including possible sanctions. Pompeo stressed that the continuation of business with Iran to bypass the sanctions will eventually be «much more painful» decision, rather than leaving the Iranian market.

The President of the United States Donald trump announced in may that Washington is out of agreement with Iran on its nuclear program. He also reported the return of all sanctions against Iran including secondary, that is, against other countries doing business with Iran. The US imposed with effect from 7 August, the part of the sanctions against Iran.
