United aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the Chinese civil aviation Corporation (COMAC) presented a full-scale mockup of a joint wide-body long-haul aircraft CR-929, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

The presentation took place on the following Tuesday Zhuhai air show.

A demo version of layout 1:1 includes a cockpit and a three-class layout of the passenger compartment. Layout length — 22 meters height — 6.5 meters, a width of 5.9 meters. The salon is equipped with two rows of seats in first class, three rows of seats business class and four rows of seats in the economy class, the including an entertainment system and interior decoration in Chinese and Russian styles.

The basic version CR929–600 in a three-class layout can carry 280 passengers to a distance of 12 thousand kilometers. The family of aircraft will be also versions with a longer fuselage (CR929–700) and a shorter fuselage (CR929–500).

«Today’s event is open full-scale model of our joint plane and have the opportunity to visit the cockpit, look at the organization of space in first class, business class, economy class, to visit the cabin crew, shows that we have something to interest (buyers. — Approx. ed.)», — said the President of UAC, Yuri Slusar. He also noted that the demand for CR-929 in the Chinese market will account for about a thousand machines in the next 20 years.

The chief designer of the CR-929 from the Russian side Maxim Litvinov in his turn, reminded that the program is at the stage of conceptual design and selection of suppliers of major systems and equipment, which will be completed by the end of 2019. The result will be formed the final shape of the plane. He also noted that, in agreement with COMAS, Engineering center for the development of wide-body long-haul aircraft will be located in Russia.

Russia and China intend to implement plans to create a machine to 2025-2027 years. The intent of the parties, the liner with a capacity of 250-300 passengers will compete with the aircraft of other leading aircraft manufacturers, the European Airbus and the American Boeing and will take significant market share not only in Russia and China, but also in other countries. The cost of the program at the moment is estimated in the range of 13-20 billion. The first flight is expected in 2025.
