Nizhny Novgorod region will receive a subsidy for the development of volunteering

Nizhny Novgorod region will receive a Federal subsidy in the amount of 12 million rubles for the creation of a regional resource center for volunteerism development in 2019, according to the Ministry of education in the region.

The grant will be allocated in Nizhny Novgorod region the results of national competition of the best regional practices for supporting volunteerism «Region of good deeds» carried out by the Federal Agency for youth Affairs.

«Nizhny Novgorod oblast in 2019 will receive a Federal subsidy in the amount of 11 949 700 rubles for the creation of a regional resource centre for development of volunteering. This will serve as a starting point to create a network of volunteer centres in the municipalities. Today in Nizhny Novgorod region there is a huge request for the development of the volunteer movement. Almost 18 000 people are involved in voluntary associations on an ongoing basis. The centre will improve coordination and will contribute to the dissemination of special knowledge and skills. It also will be an important step in the implementation of the development strategy of Nizhny Novgorod region», — quotes the press-service of the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

Now in the Nizhniy Novgorod region operate in 457 voluntary associations. Only for the first half of 2018 in all urban districts and municipal districts of the region sold more than 500 volunteer projects in different areas — social, event, military-Patriotic, spiritual, moral, ecological, health, educational and cultural.

According to the Minister of education, science and youth policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Sergey Zlobin, the diversity of public youth initiatives has allowed residents to effectively present the best volunteer practices and to win the competition of the Federal Agency for youth Affairs.
