The first Forum active laity «favor» will gather on November 14 in Moscow 1.5 thousand active Orthodox people to discuss topical issues of spiritual and social life of a modern Christian, said Tuesday at a press conference the organizers and participants of the event.

Speakers at the forum, which will be held in the hall of columns — known clergymen, businessmen, public and cultural figures will share their personal experiences, including in the implementation of major charitable, social and business projects.

«This is a completely unique event: thousands of caring people will gather to hear each other, and share the experience of your life, the experience of creation in the first place,» — said General Director of TV channel «Spas» Boris korchevnikov.

According to him, among the myths about the Church that some have to hear the allegations about her «other-worldliness», that is, when the Orthodox believers accused of a passive attitude in relation to the «current agenda».

«It’s not, and the forum «favor» is just meeting those people who really care, who want to participate actively in life today, in creating, in any business, no matter where they were, at any position in society — and remain open-minded, Orthodox Christians; all that lays in us the gospel, to exercise and implement in life,» added korchevnikov.

Authorized under the RF President on the rights of the child Anna Kuznetsova, in turn, reported that her presentation at the forum will be devoted to parenting and family life.

«Everything that concerns children, concerns each of us. We are all or have children, or the children of today, or realize that they soon will be. So kids — it’s about the future and about the future we need to think together… And the more the dialogue than the more personal, the more accurate will be the solution,» said Kuznetsova.

Anna Kuznetsova, the wife of the priest Alexey Kuznetsov, the mother of six children. She expressed hope that «such personal contact» on the forum, «will be more in this age of information technology».

«There is a stereotype that the Church is the Supreme authority, and when talking about the Church, mean priests, bishops, and the real role and activity of the laity is not taken into account,» said for his part, the head of the Synodal Department for Church and society and the media Vladimir Legoyda.

In his opinion, the main question that people should ask themselves, when he asked what the Church did — if he considers himself a member of the Church is «what I did in order to help the homeless, elderly, youth and so forth.»

As an example he cited his personal experience when, in mid-1990-ies, in conditions of an acute shortage of Church periodicals and literature, along with his friends decided to establish an Orthodox magazine «Foma».

«We could still, in 1994, to sit there and say, «where is the Church magazine,» but we instead gathered with friends and made the «Foma» magazine. That is, we answered the question of what the Church has done, not by forwarding it to someone — we drew it to himself» — said Legoyda.

Among the participants of the forum «favor» — author of the book «Unholy saints» Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov), head of the project «Revival of wooden churches of the North» Archpriest Alexei Yakovlev, chaplain service «Mercy» Bishop Panteleimon (Shatov), Chairman of the Georgian demographic society, the businessman Levan Vasadze, Director of the publishing house «Nike» Nikolay Breev, the Creator of the restaurant chain «Chayhona number 1» Alexey Vasilchuk, investor and philanthropist Ilya Zebari, a priest and blogger Paul Ostrovsky, doctor of theology, monks, twins Cyril and Methodius (Zinkovskiy), founder of recruitment portal «SuperJob» Alexei Zakharov, journalist and TV presenter tutta Larsen.
