Metropolitan of Moldova Vladimir condemned the decision of Constantinople for autocephaly for Ukraine and stated that the perpetrators of the schism do not deserve forgiveness.

«The Church forgives all. But in this case, those who led to the split of the Church, don’t deserve forgiveness,» the Metropolitan said on air of the TV channel Publika TV.

According to him, Moldovan metropolis regrets the current situation, because it causes damage to all Orthodoxy.

«This is a sad moment for us, for society, for the Church, such things should not happen. I hope that in the future will be able to organize a pan-Orthodox or local Cathedral to have a place to discuss this issue», – said the Metropolitan of Moldavia.

Earlier, the President of Moldova Igor Dodon has declared that supports the initiative of convening a pan-Orthodox Council to discuss ways of overcoming the Church division and offered to conduct it on territory of the Moldavian Republic.

Earlier, the Belarusian Orthodox Church urged Constantinople to suspend the granting of autocephaly to Ukraine. The Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC) has announced that it will refrain from hasty assessments, and the Church the problem in the Ukraine have to decide first of all Moscow and Constantinople. Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Bishop Irenaeus (Bulovic) stated that the unilateral granting of autocephaly by the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Ukraine will destroy the unity of the Orthodox world, while the claims of Constantinople to absolute preeminence in all Orthodox world «is accomplished not stand up to scrutiny».

The authorities in Kiev and non-canonical Church structure in Ukraine hope till the end of the year to receive the Tomos of autocephaly from Constantinople, but Tomos can get only the Primate of the «United» Church, it needs to select on the «unification Council» of the Orthodox churches in Ukraine, which date is not appointed yet. This canonical UOC said that is not going to participate in this event.

Because of the decision of Constantinople to begin providing non-canonical autocephaly churches in Ukraine, which the Russian Orthodox Church is called the schism, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on 15 October announced the severance of communication with the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the canonical territory of the ROC, including Ukraine and Belarus.

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has called canonically void, and saw politics in the abolition of Constantinople by the act of 1686 on the transfer of the Kyiv Metropolitanate to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. Metropolitan Hilarion said that Constantinople lost its right to be called the coordinating centre of Orthodoxy. In the Russian Orthodox Church hope that Constantinople will change the decision to give the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church, and before that he will be in schism.
