Poland will sign another agreement to supply liquefied natural gas from the United States, said the Chairman of the Board, Polish oil and gas company PGNiG Piotr, Wozniak.

In October, PGNiG and U.S. Venture Global LNG has signed a supply contract in Poland two million tons of LNG annually for 20 years.

«Tomorrow we sign the agreement with the Americans on the supply of LNG,» said, Wozniak, without specifying the terms of the contract.

It is known that on Thursday morning, PGNiG will be attended by Minister of energy of the USA Rick Perry and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

Imports of Russian gas

Moscow remains the main supplier of gas to Warsaw. Over the past six months Poland increased its imports from Russia by 0.4 billion cubic meters. Concluded in 1996, the contract between PGNiG and Gazprom involves the supply of up to ten billion cubic meters of gas per year at the minimum contracted volume of 8.7 billion cubic meters. The contract is valid until 2022.

Despite the dissatisfaction with the price, Warsaw is in no hurry to reduce the volume of purchases of Russian raw materials, but only increases them. This is done to replenish the reserves, in case after starting the «Nord stream — 2» the transit gas pipeline «Yamal — Europe», passing through Poland, will decrease sharply.

Concerns were valid: in spite of the opposition of the United States, Ukraine and Poland itself, the construction of «Nord stream — 2» began. Within two years he will work, and then the transit route through Poland and Belarus can be claimed.Poland will sign a new agreement on the supply of LNG from the US© Vitaly Advicedating years Board
