You need to build trust between countries to develop mechanisms to curb the sources feeding the terrorists, it said in the welcome telegram from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the meeting of heads of special services, security agencies and law enforcement.

The text of the telegram on the opening of the meeting was read by the Director of FSB Alexander Bortnikov.

«We see that international terrorist organizations are trying to become more active, including in the global information space, and because of the work of the special services and law enforcement agencies increased demands. Significantly increases the need for consolidation of efforts in countering emerging challenges and threats to security,» the telegram says.

Putin noted that among the priorities of the security forces — the creation of an effective system of suppression of terrorists, the neutralization of their leaders, and the most dangerous members, including transboundary movement. In the telegram, the President emphasized the importance of continuously improving the efficiency of information exchange, to develop mechanisms to eliminate sources and channels of financing terrorist organizations.

«For such a serious task, you need to build trust between States, increase the responsibility of their actions and transparency of intentions. This will significantly enhance the capabilities of the international counter-terrorism cooperation to prevent the risks of misunderstandings in the work of the States in this area, for example, the use of modern telecommunication technologies», — added in the telegram.
