The power company RusHydro has commissioned wind power plant of 900 kW in the Arctic village of Tiksi in Yakutia, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

In the launching ceremony participated the head of the company Nikolay Shulginov, the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolayev, Executive Director of the Japanese organization NEDO Takashi Omote. Wind power plant started the production of clean electricity to an isolated Arctic village of Tiksi, which is now home to more than 4.6 thousand people.

The operation of the power plant increases the reliability of power supply Tiksi and reduces consumption in the Bulun district of Yakutia expensive imported diesel fuel. Saving of diesel fuel can be up to 500 tons per year. As reported in the «RusHydro», the three wind turbines made in the Arctic for the harsh conditions of the Arctic. They can operate in temperatures up to minus 50 degrees and able to withstand wind speeds of up to 70 meters per second. The equipment produced by the Japanese company Komaihaltek.

«Equipment, three turbines, was developed by our Japanese partners to work in such harsh conditions. It is unique in the world,» — said at the launching ceremony Shulginov.

This year the companies of the group «RusHydro» will also start construction work on the wind Park a new diesel power plant equipped with three generators with a total capacity of 3 MW and the system of accumulation of electricity. Then wind, diesel power plant and storage system power are combined into a single energy complex of the automated control system of production and distribution of energy. Wind / diesel power complex will be 3.9 MW. The cost of construction and operation of the complex will take into account in pricing decisions.

We’ll see how to work this equipment during winter, and draw conclusions about its further application, the further localization of this equipment in Russia, on the further reproduction on other sites and in isolated areas of the Far East», — said the head of «RusHydro».
