The Prosecutor on Wednesday asked its court of Moscow sentenced to 17 years in strict regime colony, Dmitry Grachev, who out of jealousy chopped off his wife’s hands, told RIA Novosti press-service of the court.

Grachev pleaded guilty only in causing of heavy harm to health of his wife. In addition, he incriminated article of the criminal code of Russian Federation «Threat by murder» and «Kidnapping».

«During debate of the parties the public Prosecutor asked to appoint Grachev punishment in the form of 17 years of imprisonment in colony of strict regime,» — said in court.

Earlier, the court has deprived of parental rights Grachev – the couple have two children together.

The tragedy occurred almost a year ago. First, November 11, 2017, Dmitry Grachev, «experiencing hostility because of jealousy» for his wife Margarita Gracheva, by force took her to the woods, where they threatened to kill him, but eventually released, the investigation revealed.

The frightened girl went to the police, but the district refused to initiate a criminal case, citing «lack of evidence». A few days after that Grachev again took his wife into the forest and cut off her hands with an axe, set the charges.
