The Ministry of environment, natural resources and tourism of Botswana reported the death of 400 buffaloes, drowned in the river on the territory of the Chobe National Park. This is stated in a statement published on the official website of the government of the country in Facebook.

The Chobe river runs along the border between Botswana and Namibia. Before the tragic incident 400 buffaloes were in the territory of Namibia.

The Department reports that the cause of the incident is not yet established. Allowed version that the animals drowned because they were hunted a pride of lions. The remains of many Buffalo already got out of the river.

As reported in the document, this incident is not «something unusual» because the animals had previously drowned in this river.
