The OSCE Chairman, foreign Minister of Italy, Enzo Moavero Milanesi expressed concern in connection with the elections to be held in the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics, stating that such decision is contrary to the Minsk agreements on the settlement of crisis in Ukraine.

Elections of heads and deputies of the DPR and the LPR is planned for November 11. Kiev has already declared that does not recognize the elections, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the holding of elections in line with the Minsk agreements on settling the situation in Donbas. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the elections in the DNI and LC do not run counter to the Minsk agreements.

«We are extremely concerned by the announcement of the elections to be held in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk on 11 November. Such a decision would be contrary to the form and content of the Minsk agreements», — quotes the Italian Minister, the press service of the OSCE.

«We urge all parties to engage in constructive contribution to the negotiation efforts in the Normandy format and the trilateral contact group to prevent such development,» he added.
